Handcraft & Commitment

Our commitment

At Manebí, we believe fashion should be exquisite and responsible. Explore our eco-friendly collections, capturing the essence of an endless summer. Join us on our journey toward a brighter, more environmentally conscious future.

Our dedication to ethical craftsmanship and sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We value high-quality materials and slow production to create consciously crafted, iconic resort wear.

Materials & innovation

We prioritize sustainability in our fabric choices, focusing on upcycled fibers and natural materials to offer stylish and environmentally responsible vacation wear. Our collection primarily comprises plant-based fabrics known for their strength, durability, non-corrosive properties, and biodegradability.

Linen thrives with minimal fertilizer and pesticide use, with insignificant waste generated during the weaving process thanks to the full utilization of the flax plant. Unlike many other crops, flax often relies on natural rainfall for growth, promoting water conservation.

Our dedication to organic cotton not only reduces water and toxic chemical consumption but also enhances soil quality through practices like crop rotation and composting. Healthy soils have a higher capacity to retain water and carbon, thus contributing to the fight against climate change.

In addition, jute and natural rubber play vital roles in the construction of our iconic espadrille soles. These materials not only contribute to the shoes’fashion-forward design but also ensure their resilience and longevity.

With our faux fur collection, we advocate for elegant fashion that doesn’t harm animals. Our faux fur offers a cruelty-free alternative closely replicating the plush appearance of real fur without its associated brutality and environmental impact, delivering a powerful message that fashion can thrive without hurting animals.

Furthermore, our men’s swimwear range is exclusively crafted from recycled nylon, reinforcing our unwavering commitment to sustainability.

Italian design

Our designs, born in Italy, embody our steadfast dedication to delivering stylish resort wear infused with a distinctive touch of sophistication. Drawing inspiration from Italy’s rich heritage of craftsmanship and creativity, our collections reflect the timeless elegance and contemporary charm that Italy is known for.

At Manebí, Italian design means more than aesthetics; it signifies a commitment to quality and attention to detail that's deeply ingrained in the designers’ culture.

Empowering artisans

We collaborate with family-run factories across Italy, Spain, India, and Madagascar to bring our exquisite collections to life, nurturing ethical working conditions and supporting local communities. From meticulously crafted jute shoes in Spain to leather sandals sourced from India and expertly handwoven raffia bags by a women’s cooperative in Madagascar, each piece reflects our pledge to ethical production.

In Spain, our skilled artisans take immense pride in crafting each pair of Manebí espadrilles by hand. Their meticulous approach minimizes fabric waste, aligning perfectly with our eco-friendly ethos. The iconic Manebí espadrilles are a true embodiment of Spanish artisan tradition, reflecting a heritage of craftsmanship passed down through generations. Each sole of our espadrilles is shaped from natural rubber and features the distinctive braided rope detail, woven from 100% natural jute.

Our leather sandals, handcrafted in India, are a testament to rigorous detail and artisanal expertise. We invest in deep and thorough research to accentuate the artistry of each iconic model, ensuring that our designs are both fashion-forward and sustainable.

In Madagascar, we’ve partnered with skilled women artisans who work with locally sourced raffia — a durable and versatile natural fiber from endemic palm trees. We promote responsible raffia collection in a protected national park, ensuring well-being for both artisans and the environment.

“I think all women should have the opportunity to work, no matter what anybody else thinks or wants from us. We should always be able to make our own choices and be independent.” – Olivia, artisan.

Our mission as a brand goes beyond fashion; it's about empowerment. We aim to enhance the lives of our artisans, their families, and the communities we collaborate with. By fostering ethical working conditions and supporting local artisans, we contribute to a brighter future for them and their home countries. We’re proud to be part of a sustainable journey that places ethical, slow production and community development at its core.

Global ethical partnerships

We understand the importance of environmental stewardship. That’s why we’ve partnered with Treedom, a platform that enables us to plant trees remotely and monitor their growth over time. Our collaboration has allowed us to plant 400 cocoa trees in Cameroon, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by an impressive 22,000 kilograms.

Eco-conscious packaging

Our commitment to sustainability is evident in our packaging.

At Manebí, our shoe boxes, shopping bags, and box tape are crafted exclusively from recycled paper, minimizing our environmental footprint. We take responsible sourcing to heart, as the paper we use is sourced from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified forests, recognized as the gold standard in sustainable wood harvesting.

But we go beyond eco-friendly materials. Our cotton packaging promotes reuse rather than disposal. For example, our beachwear pouches aren't just any bags; they can transform into stylish beach beauty cases, versatile enough to double as elegant clutches. The same applies to our tote bags, each accompanied by an exclusive cotton dust bag featuring our iconic Manebí palm and logo. These tote bags are not just chic accessories but also designed to be a part of your daily wardrobe or travel essentials, encouraging eco-conscious reusability.

We maintain an ongoing commitment to assess, reduce, and optimize our packaging materials, continually enhancing our sustainable practices.
